QUEENS, NY—Freshman Montana Green had a career-day as George Mason women's volleyball fell in straight sets to both St. John's and the University of San Francisco on day one of the Jack Kaiser Volleyball Classic at St. John's Friday.

Coach's Corner

“We knew this was going to be a tough day with the level of competition. Both teams have a really high RPI,” head coach Jackie Simpson said. “I was really inspired by our team's match against San Francisco. That's a team that I expect to see beat a lot of ranked opponents this season and probably end up ranked themselves. I'm really happy with how we fought. I don't think the stat sheet reflects how close that match was. We still have a lot to learn and a lot of room to grow, but there were moments today where I could see the team changing.”
