NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — The George Mason University men's cross country team was voted by Atlantic 10 Conference coaches to have another championship season, despite graduating many key runners from last year's success.
The Patriots, the defending A-10 Champions, return three of the top 18 finishers from last year's championship including juniors Steven Flynn (third-place) and Brent Coulter (fourth-place). Also returning is sophomore Logan Miller, last year's 18thplace finisher.
Finishing second to George Mason in the poll was 2014 championship runner up, Duquesne. The Dukes return fifth-place individual finisher Aaron Wilkinson and seventh-place individual finisher, and reigning A-10 Rookie of the Year, Rico Galassi as they search for their first conference title since 2005.
Saint Joseph's, Davidson and La Salle rounded out the top five, and were followed by Saint Louis, Fordham, Massachusetts, Dayton, Richmond, George Washington, Rhode Island, VCU and St. Bonaventure.
