In addition to volleyball, you enjoy playing the violin. How did you come to start playing an instrument and why the violin?

I was introduced to the Violin in the 3rd grade when it was mandatory to try an instrument at my Elementary School in Missouri. We were all taught how to play through the method of Suzuki. As you progressed in grade school, you were allowed to pick a different musical instrument or stop altogether, but I continued to play the violin because it was fun, and I picked it up pretty quickly.

Your older brother, Ryan, played volleyball at Ball State. Did having a brother involved in volleyball help you develop your game growing up?

My older brother Ryan introduced me to volleyball. As a kid, I attended all of his matches and played volleyball in the yard with him regularly.  This was when I realized that I enjoyed volleyball over other sports, and I started to learn the game more.  Ryan taught me the fundamentals of volleyball, and he is still a mentor to me in volleyball to this day. It's something we can always bond over.

Heading into your sophomore season what are some of your goals or skills that you are looking to work on?

My goals during my sophomore season are to improve the power behind my hits,  finding the open holes and delivering on the plays Coach Jackie has put in place.  I want to win, so whatever I am asked to do to achieve that  - I will for my team.

If you aren't studying or working out, you will most likely be:

If I'm not studying or working out,  I'd most likely be hanging out with my teammates!
