NEW ORLEANS - The George Mason track & field team had three men and two women earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field honors and additionally the women's team earned Division I All-Academic Track & Field team honors as announced by the USTFCCCA.

Amanda Denger and Michelle Wallerstedt were named All-Academic individuals on the women's team while Michael Conway, Ayo Raymond and John Seals earned male honors. Denger is recognized for her third time and Wallerstedt her second while the men each earned the distinction for the first time. The women are named an All-Academic team for the fourth consecutive year.

"We're obviously very proud of the accomplishments of our individual honorees - Amanda, Michelle, Ayo, John and Michael,” commented head coach Andrew Gerard. “They have achieved, athletically, at the pinnacle of our sport while balancing their academic load over their whole career at an admirable level as well.  For our women's team to be so honored at this level as well, for the fourth straight year, is a testament to the culture of success these women have embraced.  We're thrilled with the recognition of all of the hard work that everyone has contributed to."

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have competed at the NCAA Championships either during the indoor or outdoor seasons. Teams earned the distinction as a result of earning a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or higher.
