BRONXVILLE, NY – Hunter Stevens has been selected as the EIVA Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts this past weekend against St. Francis (Pa.) and Penn State. The Patriots split the weekend, sweeping the Red Flash, before falling to the Nittany Lions.

The middle blocker recorded eight total blocks over the weekend to lead the Patriot defense.  Stevens was also successful on offense, hitting .500 with 10 kills.  This is the Newtown, Pa. native's second EIVA Defensive Player of the Week selection this season.  Stevens leads the Patriots with 60 total blocks this season and a 0.91 blocks per set average.  His 0.91 blocks per set ranks fifth in the conference and his 60 total blocks are the fourth most in the EIVA.

The lone senior on the team, Stevens, recorded five of his eight blocks in the Patriots sweep of St. Francis (Pa.).  Mason currently is in fourth place in the EIVA standings and welcomes Grand Canyon on Thursday and Saturday this week.
