Taylor Brown was named to the VaSID All-State University Basketball First Team as announced on Monday. The redshirt junior led the Atlantic 10 in points per game with 21.4, good for 12th in the nation and set a new George Maosn single-season scoring record with 643 points. Voting for the All-State team was done by the Virginia Sports Information Directors.
An All-Atlantic 10 Second Team honoree, Brown led the conference with 20 games scoring more than 20 points and three with over 30, including a career-high 35 twice. Brown notched A-10 Player of the Week on November 17 after registering her first of two double-double on the season with 35 points and 11 rebounds in Mason's season-opening win over Virginia Tech.
VaSID is comprised of sports information or athletics communications professionals from intercollegiate institutions throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. Membership is open to any individual affiliated with one of the state's institutions at the NCAA Division I, Division II, Division III, NAIA, USCAA and community college levels, provided that individual's area of responsibility lies within the realm of sports information.
