NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – George Mason men's basketball freshman Isaiah Jackson has been tabbed the Atlantic 10 Co-Rookie of the Week for games played Feb. 23-March 1, as announced by the league office Monday morning. This marks Jackson's first weekly award from the conference. He shares the honor with Fordham freshman Chris Sengfelder.
Jackson helped lead Mason to a 1-1 week averaging 15.5 points per game, 5.0 rebounds per game and 2.0 assists per game while shooting 71.4 percent from three-point field goal range.
In Mason's win at Saint Louis, Jackson led the Patriots with a game-high 18 points fueled by 4-of-5 shooting beyond the arc. In addition, Jackson was a perfect 6-for-6 from the charity stripe and collected three rebounds, two assists and two steals playing 31 minutes in the contest. Jackson opened the week with a team-best 13 points at Dayton and finished with seven rebounds and two assists shooting 5-of-9 from the field.
Mason returns to action on Wednesday welcoming George Washington at 7 p.m. for a Revolutionary Rivalry contest. The Patriots' two seniors will be recognized prior to tip and the game will be televised on the A-10 Network.

On Wednesday, March 4, George Mason men's basketball will host Mason's annual Gold Game, as fans are encouraged to wear gold to support both the Patriots and Ellie's Hats, a childhood cancer awareness program. Game time between Mason and local Revolutionary Rival George Washington is set for 7 p.m. in the Patriot Center. In addition to wearing gold, fans are encouraged to bring a new hat to donate to Ellie's Hats that will be given to a 2-14 year old child that is suffering from cancer.
