NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - George Mason women's basketball enters this week's Atlantic 10 Tournament as the No. 10 seed, earning a first round bye. The Patriots will take on seventh-seeded Saint Joseph's on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. in the Richmond Coliseum. The winner will take on the No. 2 seed Dayton on Friday.
“It was a tough way to end the regular season but we finished higher than projected,” head coach Nyla Milleson said. “Now we just have to take care of business against St. Joe's.”
Mason, La Salle, Massachusetts and St. Bonaventure all completed the regular season with a 5-11 conference record. Mason was tabbed as the 10th seed because of its .667 winning percentage against the three other opponents, while UMass finished with a .400 winning percentage and was slotted 13th. La Salle is seeded 11th compliments of a head-to-head win over SBU.

The Atlantic 10 returns to the Richmond Coliseum for the second consecutive year and 2015 marks just the fourth time in league history the Championship will be decided on a neutral floor.
