Mason fans are encouraged to wear pink as Mason women's basketball hosts Davidson in its annual Play4Kay Breast Cancer Awareness Game Sunday afternoon. Mason students will receive free Paisano's Pizza for the Game of the Week while supplies last. Members of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority will be on the concourse with pink-themed giveaways and prizes for all fans.
The Patriots trade its Green and Gold for Pink Sunday afternoon when the Patriots host Davidson in the annual Pink game in support of the Kay Yow Foundation's Play for Kay initiative to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research. Sunday will mark the first meeting between the programs. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. For the second straight year, Mason is working with the Susan G. Komen Global Race for the Cure to pair each Patriot with a “Survivor Buddy.” The women will join the team for a behind the scenes game day experience.
Mason looks to snap a season-high five game losing streak following an 84-73 home loss to Dayton Thursday. Three Patriots are averaging double-digits led by redshirt junior Taylor Brown who leads the team and the Atlantic 10 with 22.4, classmate Jasmine Jackson tabs 11.3 points per game and senior Sandra Ngoie comes in with 10.6. As a team, Mason is averaging 70.6 per games while shooing just over 38 percent.
The Wildcats are coming off a 52-34 loss to No. 23/24 George Washington Thursday. The A-10's newest member has just one win in league play, a 53-50 road win over Saint Louis on January 18. Hannah Early leads Davidson with 14.3 points per game followed by Mackenzie Latt who adds 10.6 points and a team-high 8.4 rebounds per game.
