Former George Mason men's soccer defender Chase Miller ('09-'13) is getting his chance to play professional soccer after signing a contract with Bodens BK, located in Boden, Sweden.
"It's a dream come true signing my first contract,” said Miller. “It's been a goal of mine since a young age and it's a great feeling that I can't really describe. BBK is club full of great history and I am honored to play for them. Our goal as a team is to win the league this year and gain promotion. I plan to bring the knowledge I've gained through my experience at Mason to help BBK achieve that goal."
Miller graduated after the 2013 season in which Mason won its first Atlantic 10 Conference championship and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The Duncannon, Pa. native represented the U.S. National Team at the U-14, U-15 and U-17 levels before he attended Mason and ended his Patriot career with 65 starts and 71 overall appearances. His defense helped the Patriots post back-to-back seasons of nine shutouts and a goals-against-average of less than one.
“We are thrilled for Chase and his family,” commented head coach Greg Andrulis. “This has been a long term goal for Chase and a very positive step in his incredible career. Chase was a very special player for us during his time at Mason, and we are thrilled that he is realizing his goals and dreams to be a professional soccer player.”
Miller has so far had chances to play in friendly matches against ROPS and PSC.
