A strong second half was not enough for the Patriots Saturday night as George Mason women's basketball fell 82-59 at Saint Louis in front of an Atlantic 10 record crowd of 7,184.
The Patriots shot a season-low 14.7 percent (5-34) from the field in the first half and found themselves in a 33-13 hole heading into halftime. Mason's offense picked up in the second half, improving to 40.6 (13-32) behind 18 second-half points from Taylor Brown, who led the Patriots with 21 in the effort.
The Billikens connected on 43.9 (29-66) of their shots on the night, with four players reaching double-digits. Center Sadie Stipanovich lead the way for SLU, tying Brown's A-10 season-record with 35 points on the night in addition to 10 rebounds.
The Green and Gold return home Wednesday night when they host Fordham in the final home game of the 2014-15 season. The Patriots will honor their three seniors, Rachel McNair, Sandra Ngoie and Talisha Watts prior to the 7 p.m. tipoff.
