George Mason women's basketball looks for the season sweep Saturday when they face Saint Louis in the second half of the home-and-home series at Chaifetz Arena at 8 p.m. EST. The Patriots took the season's first meeting in a 66-57 decision at home to open Atlantic 10 play on January 4. Redshirt juniors Taylor Brown and Jasmine Jackson combined for 45 points in the win.
Both programs enter Saturday's meeting off Wednesday losses. The Patriots fell 82-51 at Saint Joe's, behind 15 points and nine rebounds from Kristi Mokube. Brown was the only other Patriot in double figures with 11 points. The Bowie, Md. native leads Mason and the Atlantic 10 in scoring at 22.1 points per game.
After earning the NCAA Team of the Week last week following wins over Davidson and then No. 20/21 George Washington, the Billikens dropped a 57-55 decision at home to St. Bonaventure Wednesday night. Sadie Stipanovich and Jamesia Price each registered double-doubles for SLU in the loss as Stipanovich led the Billikens with 16 points and 13 rebounds with Price just behind her with 14 points and 12 boards. On the season, Stipanovich leads the team with 14 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.
The Patriots return home Wednesday for their final home game of the 2014-15 season to host Fordham. Prior to the 7 p.m. tip, Mason will honor its three seniors, Rachel McNair, Talisha Watts and Sandra Ngoie.
