George Mason wraps up this three-game homestand welcoming Rhode Island to the Patriot Center for the third time in program history on Saturday. The Patriots and Rams meet for the fifth time overall with Mason leading the all-time series, 3-1. URI captured its first victory over Mason last season in Rhode Island in overtime, 71-69.
Mason is coming off a loss to Fordham in a midweek tilt on Wednesday. Shevon Thompson recorded his 14th double-double behind 19 points and 10 rebounds. Four additional Patriots joined Thompson in double-figures in the game.
Rhode Island comes into the contest sitting in a three-way tie for first place in the Atlantic 10. Winners of seven of their past eight contests, the Rams have won the past two games at home with their last loss coming on the road at Saint Joseph's. E.C. Matthews leads URI with 16.3 ppg, while Hassan Martin adds 12.0 ppg.
