The Patriots travel to the University of Massachusetts for a Wednesday morning tilt set to tipoff at 11:45 a.m. The programs are meeting for the fifth time in program history. The Patriots hold a 4-0 series lead including an overtime thriller in the opening round of the Atlantic 10 tournament where Mason overcame an 18-point deficit to win the game 85-75 behind a career-high 35 points from Taylor Brown.
Brown leads the way for Mason with 22.3 points per game after scoring 21 points in the Patriots 63-60 win over Davidson on Sunday. Mason knocked down 10 three pointers in the win, including three each from Brown, Sandra Ngoie and Jasmine Jackson who ended the day with 16 points.
UMass enters Wednesday's match-up looking to snap a six-game losing streak dating back to January 15 when the Minutewomen edged La Salle 71-68 in the first half of a home-and-home with the Explorers. La Salle took the most recent meeting in a 71-69 decision in Philadelphia. Kim Pierre-Louis tied her career-high with 33 points in the losing effort. The senior forward leads UMass with 17.5 points per game to go with 7.2 rebounds per game.
