NEWPORTS NEWS, Va. – For the second consecutive week, freshman DeAndre Abram earned Atlantic 10 Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week honors. It marks the second weekly honor for Abram. Saint Joseph's senior Isaiah Miles was named Player of the Week.

After setting a career-high with 24 points against Longwood, Abram surpassed his career-high last week against Wagner, pouring in a game-high 27 points. The freshman recorded his first-ever double-double in the process, pulling down 10 rebounds. The Carrolton, Texas native was 7-for-13 from the floor, including a 6-for-8 performance from three-point land. The six triples marks a career-high for Abram and the first time a Patriot hit six 3-pointers in a game since Andre Cornelius had seven at UNCW in February 2011.

For the game, Abram shot 53.8 percent from the floor and 75.0 percent from three-point range. The freshman added a 7-for-10 effort at the charity stripe for a personal best.

Along with Abram, junior Marquise Moore recorded his first-ever double-double against Wagner with 18 points and 11 rebounds marking the first time a pair of Patriots recorded double-doubles in the same game since 2013.

Mason returns to action opening Atlantic 10 Conference play at VCU on January 2. Tip is slated for 5 p.m. and the game will be televised on CBSSN.
