FAIRFAX, Va. – La Salle scored three goals in the first half and held the advantage as George Mason women's soccer dropped its final home contest of the season, 3-0. The Patriots have one match remaining in the 2015 regular season.

MATCH NOTES
-In the early going, Mason saw a pair of solid opportunities to grab the lead on a pair of shots from Emily Littell and Erin Mitchell, but both attempts were blocked by La Salle.
-The Explorers opened the scoring in the 20th minute as Marykate Bateman stole possession from Mason and slipped past the defender, converting the turnover in the middle for a 1-0 lead.
-La Salle took a 2-0 advantage in the 24th minute when Jessika Kagan converted a penalty kick.
-The Explorers threatened in the 35th minute when Kristin Haugstad blasted a direct shot at Kirsten Glad. Glad made the diving save to the right to keep the score at 2-0.
-In the 41st minute, La Salle grabbed a 3-0 lead when Madison Bower received a cross on the far side from Marykate Bateman. Bower tried to slip it past Glad as Mason was out of position and a defender tried to knock it out of play, but it found the upper right corner.
-Mason attacked early in the second half, looking to cut its deficit and forcing goalkeeper Larisa Zambelli into a trio of saves.
-Emma Starr looked for a tally in the 67th minute as Daniela Neves on the far side found Starr at the near post. Starr's attempt was just wide of the goal.
-Starr tried again in the 75th minute, taking a free kick opportunity for the Patriots. Starr's kick hit the left post as La Salle's goalkeeper tried to clear it to the left.
-In the 88th minute, Alex Myers took a corner kick for Mason. Off Myers' corner, Abby Downey converted with a tally behind the keeper, but the Patriots were called for a foul as the game ended in a 3-0 decision.

STAT BREAKDOWN
-Mason posted 15 shots on the night to La Salle's 16.
-The Explorers put nine shots on goal, while the Patriots recorded five.
-La Salle also held the slight advantage in corner kicks, 6-4.
-Sarah Hardison led Mason with four shots. Emma Starr and Erin Mitchell each added three.
