Newport News, Va. – The Atlantic 10 Conference will hold its first two championships of the season this weekend with the running of the Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships at Pole Green Park in Mechanicsville, Va. on Saturday, October 31. This year's races will be hosted by the University of Richmond.

The Cross Country Championships will be streamed live and free of charge on the A-10 Network, weather permitting. Click here to watch the stream on Saturday on the A-10 Network.

The 2015 Championships mark the 38th annual men's conference meet and the 27th annual women's conference meet. The Men's Cross Country Championship (8k race) will begin at 10:00 AM and will be immediately followed by the Women's Championship (5k) beginning at 10:50 AM.

Vying for the men's title is A-10 preseason favorite and defending champion, George Mason. The Patriots, currently ranked 14th in the USTFCCCA Southeast Regional Rankings, are led by returning top-five finishers, juniors Steven Flynn (third-place) and Brent Coulter (fourth-place).

Also in hot pursuit of the men's title is 2014 runner-up Duquesne. The Dukes are led by last year's fifth-place individual finisher, Aaron Wilkinson, and reigning A-10 Rookie of the Year, Rico Galassi, as they search for their first conference title since 2005.

Joining Duquesne and George Mason in pursuit of the 2015 championship are La Salle and Saint Joseph's. Both programs are currently ranked in the USTFCCA Mid-Atlantic Regional Rankings, seventh and 14th respectively.

Also contending for this year's title is Davidson, Dayton, Fordham, George Washington, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Richmond, St. Bonaventure, Saint Louis and VCU.

The Duquesne women are looking to bring home their third straight A-10 title, after previously winning the 2013 and 2014 championships. The race in 2013 was also held at Pole Green Park. The Dukes return three top-25 championship finishers from last year's squad including junior Valerie Palermo (third-place), sophomore Jenny Delsignore (10th place) and junior Autumn Greba (23rd place).

Also in search of the women's championship is 2014 championship runner-up, La Salle. The Explorers are led by last year's individual champion and Rookie of the Year, Morgan Szekely. Szekely represented the Atlantic 10 at the NCAA Cross Country Championships and recorded a time of 21:40.7 (6K) en route to a 169th place finish.

George Washington and Richmond also stand out as championship contenders after being ranked in the most recent regional rankings. The Colonials appeared 12th in the Mid-Atlantic Region, while the Spiders ranked 15th in the Southeast Region.

Joining those four squads in search of the women's title are Davidson, Dayton, Fordham, George Mason, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, St. Bonaventure, Saint Joseph's, Saint Louis and VCU.
