NEWS & NOTES
Mason plays game two of this three-game homestand on Sunday welcoming Revolutionary Rivalry foe George Washington at 2 p.m. for Alumni Weekend and Senior Day. Mason's four seniors: Sydney Mitchell, Keri Sachtleben, Emma Starr and Amanda Stephenson will all be recognized prior to kickoff.

Mason faces its second top A-10 opponent following Thursday's meeting against VCU. GW comes into the contest sitting alone atop the A-10 standings undefeated in first place. Mason is tied for fourth with three games remaining in the regular season.

The Patriots hosted VCU on Thursday, dropping a heartbreaker, 2-1. Sarah Hardison put Mason up 1-0, but VCU knotted it before halftime and cushioned their lead early in the second half.

GW comes into Sunday's matinee after defeating Fordham 1-0 at home on Thursday. The Colonials, on a 10-game winning streak, are led by Mackenzie Cowley with seven goals on the season. Additionally, GW has recorded five shutouts over A-10 opponents en route to its perfect league record this season.

The Colonials lead the 2015 #RevRivalry series 2-0 over Mason in the early going. In its third year, the Revolutionary Rivalry is an annual competition between the local foes. GW claimed the inaugural series, while the members tied last year.
