DAVIDSON, N.C. – George Mason rebounded from a road loss last week, defeating Davidson in a Sunday matinee in North Carolina. The Patriots held a 1-0 lead at halftime and scored the game-winning goal with less than three minutes remaining in regulation to pick up their fourth Atlantic 10 Conference win of the season.

MATCH NOTES
-Mason recorded a shot and two corner kicks within the first 15 minutes and broke through in just the 16th minute.
-Erin Mitchell notched her second goal of the season at the 15:11 mark to put Mason up 1-0.
-Mitchell finished a shot to the far post from inside the six-yard box for the tally and lead.

-Davidson sought the equalizer late in the period, but Glad was able to make the stop going into halftime.
-Mason attacked early in the second half trying to convert on a corner kick.
-The Patriots saw a solid opportunity in the 61st minute to extend their lead, but Abby Downey's attempt hit the crossbar.
-Davidson tied the game at 1-1 in the 75th minute on a goal by Mia Hodges. Hodges scored unassisted, drilling a shot into the right top shelf from outside the 18-yards for the equalizer.
-Mason immediately looked for the game-winner, but it didn't come until the 88th minute. Nia Elbeck was able to get by two defenders and convert from inside the six-yard box to the far post for the game-winning tally and her second goal of the season.

STAT BREAKDOWN
-Mason placed six shots on goal to Davidson's three as the teams were even in shots, 15-15.
-The Patriots also held the advantage in corner kicks, 6-3.
-Kirsten Glad came up with two saves in the win.
-Mason forced Davidson goalkeeper Becca Ravitz into four saves on the afternoon.

POST-GAME QUOTES
-“It was a good road win on a Sunday afternoon in conference play. We had to grind it out. If there is any disappointment leaving here today, it is because we didn't put it away earlier. We had plenty of chances late in the first half and early in the second half to extend our lead and make it a little easier on us. The team showed character after giving up the game-tying goal and coming back to win it, so I feel good about that.” – Head Coach Todd Bramble

NEXT ON THE PITCH
-George Mason returns home to open a three-game homestand on Thursday welcoming VCU for a 7 p.m. match.
