Men's Swimming and Diving Lead Davidson at Richmond Duals

George Mason men's swimming and diving leads Davidson 118-81 at the Richmond Duals after the first day of the two-day event. The men's dual will be contested over the two days.

The women's team dropped their dual with Richmond today 184-110. The Patriots will face Davidson by virtue of their 168-119 loss today to Duquesne. Host Richmond will face the Dukes.

Mason's Alex Morin was top medalist in three events to lead the Patriots. He was the anchor on the first place 200 yard medley relay and won both the 50 and 100 yard freestyle events. Niles Biolley was also a member of the winning relay and also hit the wall first in the 200 yard IM. Sophomore Matthew Lynch was atop the podium in the 200 yard butterfly. In the 1,650 yard freestyle event, Mason's Steven Craig earned medalist honors with a 16:09.58 time, almost 22 seconds ahead of second place.

In diving, Mason's Paul Helfgott and Trevor Long earned points for first and second finishes respectively. For the women, Syd Fisher won the 50 yard freestyle.

Diving, at the Richmond Natatorium, begins at 9:30 a.m. The swimming events begin at 10 a.m. at SwimRVA. The live stream of both diving and swimming is available through the Atlantic 10 Digital Network.
