WASHINGTON, D.C. – One goal from George Washington in the 30th minute was enough to secure a Revolutionary Rivalry victory on Saturday afternoon as the George Mason men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision. The Patriots were held without a shot on goal as goalkeeper Steffen Kraus registered five saves in the contest.

MATCH NOTES
-Steffen Kraus was forced into his first save of the contest in just the sixth minute on an attempt from Christian Lawal.
-After Kraus made another stop in the eighth minute, GW broke through with the lone goal of the match at the 29:22 mark.
-Garrett Heine chipped it over Kraus' head at the near post after Koby Osei-Wusu crossed it from the left side for the 1-0 GW lead.
-Mason attacked late with two shots in the final two minutes, but no shot on goal was recorded as the Colonials lead 1-0 at intermission.
-Kraus picked up an additional pair of saves within the first eight minutes of the second half.
-Mason saw three shots in the second half, but were unable to convert.
-George Washington opened the third edition of the Revolutionary Rivalry with a 1-0 advantage.

-GW registered 12 shots and put six on goal.
