Kristi Mokube provided a much needed boost off the bench for the Patriots with 12 points on the night, but the Patriots could not overcome 24 turnovers Thursday, falling 88-54 at Duquesne.
The Dukes shot 54.3% in the first half to take a 47-21 lead into the break behind 16 points from April Robinson. Robinson would end the night with a game-high 21 points. Taylor Brown led the way for Mason with 13 points on the night.
Duquesne led most facets of scoring, though the Patriots registered 17 second-chance points to the Dukes 11. However, DU banked 44 points in the paint along with 26 points off 24 Mason turnovers on its way to a 51% shooting percentage on the game, the highest percentage allowed by the Patriots this season.
Mason looks to bounce back Sunday at La Salle before returning home to host St. Bonaventure on January 14.
