The George Mason women's basketball team returns home Saturday afternoon when Revolutionary Rival, George Washington, comes to Fairfax. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m.
The Patriots enter Saturday's meeting looking to snap a three-game losing streak following a 70-66 loss at VCU on Wednesday. Redshirt junior Taylor Brown led the way for Mason with 23 points on the night, including 21 in the second half, to go along with six assists and four steals. Classmate Kristi Mokube registered her third double-double of the season with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
The Atlantic 10 leading Colonials are a perfect 7-0 in conference play, winning 16 straight dating back to November 24. Naismith Trophy Candidate, Jonquel Jones, leads the way for GW with 15.9 points and 12.2 rebounds per game. The junior is the only player in the A-10 who is averaging a double-double. GW is currently ranked No. 24 in the latest USA Today Coaches Poll and is receiving votes in the AP Poll.
Saturday is the first of two meetings this season in the battle for the Revolutionary Rivalry's Tri-Corner Hat Trophy. GW took the inaugural series 11-8 in the 2013-14 season and currently leads 4-3 in 2014-15.
