George Mason women's basketball looks to snap its two-game losing streak Wednesday when they take on VCU at the Stuart Siegel Center in Richmond, Va. at 7 p.m. Wednesday marks the 57th meeting between the in-state foes with each side holding 28 wins each. The Rams took last season's meeting at VCU with a 112-86 decision.
The Patriots are coming off back-to-back losses after falling 77-49 at Richmond on January 18th before a 57-45 home loss to Rhode Island on Jan. 24. Taylor Brown became the fastest scorer in Mason women's basketball history to reach 1,000-career points Saturday; the redshirt junior leads Mason and the Atlantic 10 with 22.2 points per game.
VCU comes into Wednesday's meeting off a loss as well, dropping their first home game of the season in a 75-56 loss to Dayton on Saturday. The Rams are led by Isis Thrope with 10.9 points per game, followed by Adaeze Alaeze with 10.5. As a team, VCU is fourth in the conference and 33rd in the country in field goal percentage, shooting 36 percent on the season.
