The George Mason men's basketball team returns to Fairfax to open the New Year and Atlantic 10 Conference play hosting La Salle at 7 p.m. on Saturday. La Salle visits Fairfax for the first time in program history after the two teams met for the first time last season in Philadelphia.
Mason closed out non-conference play on New Years Eve at No. 18/21 Oklahoma. The Sooners kept the Patriots to single digits in scoring, taking the decision 61-43. The Patriots recorded 10 steals in the contest led by four each from Isaiah Jackson and Corey Edwards.
La Salle enters conference play with an 8-5 overall record after defeating Penn, 84-67. Currently on a three-game winning streak, the Explorers are paced offensively by Jordan Price, averaging 18.7 ppg, good enough to lead the league. Jerrell Wright also averages double figures, owning an 11.8 ppg average. The Explorers are undefeated on the road, boasting a 4-0 record.
