The George Mason spirit teams will be competing at the 2015 College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship this weekend at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando. The prestigious competition will showcase the country's best college cheerleaders, dance teams and mascots!

Mason's spirit teams have a longstanding history of success at College Nationals. The Masonettes placed third in the Division I Pom in last year's competition, the fourth consecutive year in the top three. The Green and Gold's spirit squad was fourth after the semi-final round and moved up a spot to earn medal honors in 2014. Mason's top finish at Nationals was runner-up in 20011 for cheer and the Masonettes earned a 2nd place finish in 2013.

The Masonettes will be competing in Division I Pom and cheer will be competing in Small Coed Division I. The semis are tomorrow with finals on Sunday for the Masonettes and in the cheer competition the semis and the finals are both scheduled on Saturday.

Teams competing are required to submit a Spirit Tape which counts for 15% of the team's overall score. The Patriots videos, encompassing game day entertainment and the squads' involvement in the Mason community, received perfect scores.

Results can be followed online this weekend at Varisty.com and live streaming of the finals is available.
