Coming off their first victory of the season, the George Mason women's soccer team opens a month on the road traveling to the Ohio State Tournament. The Patriots open tournament play facing Indiana for the third time in program history on Friday before beginning a new series against Ohio State on Sunday.
Last Sunday, the Patriots recorded their first victory of 2014 with a 2-1 triumph over American behind goals from freshman Kaila Williams and senior Liz Agiato. For her performance, Williams was tabbed Co-Rookie of the week by the Atlantic 10.
Indiana brings a 2-2 record into tournament play having defeated Indiana State and UC Irvine. Jessie Bujouves leads the team with two goals on the season, while Sarah Stone has earned three starts in goal for a 1-2 record and 1.60 goals-against-average.
Ohio State opens the tournament with Dayton on Friday night before facing the Patriots for the first time on Sunday. The Buckeyes secured their lone win thus far against Duke to open the season. Michela Paradiso and Alexis Degler each own a goal this season. Megan Geldernick has earned all four starts in goal, accumulating 28 saves and a 1.20 goals-against-average.
