The No. 20 George Mason men's soccer team prepares for two road contests this week, beginning with a match in Annapolis, Md. against Navy. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
An unbeaten beginning to the season continued on Saturday with Mason's 3-0 win over UMBC at George Mason Stadium. Goals from Daniel Hoffman, Henning Dirks and Timi Mulgrew propelled the Patriots while Steffen Kraus made a season-high nine saves in net.
Statistically the Patriots remain one of the top defenses in the country, ranking third in team GAA (0.12), tied for second in shutout percentage (0.88) and second overall in save percentage (0.964).
Mason boasts an 8-3-2 all-time record again the Midshipmen. The schools last met in 2012 when Navy defeated Mason 2-1 in double overtime in Fairfax. The Patriots are 3-0-1 on the road this season while Navy sports a record of 3-1-0 at home.
