Box Score Morghan Martin had 12 kills and two aces as George Mason women's volleyball fell to 5-10 on the season and 1-1 in Atlantic 10 play after dropping a 3-1 (20-25; 25-20; 16-25; 19-25) decision to Rhode Island (10-5, 1-1 A-10) Saturday night at the RAC.
After Rhode Island took the first set 25-20, Mason bounced back to take set two (25-20) behind six kills and an ace from Martin. Lola Owokoniran assisted on three blocks with Jessie Greenslade assisting her on two. Owokoniran would finish the match with two solo blocks while she assisted in four.
Rhody led the way for most of set three, but the Patriots didn't go quietly. In the fourth and final set Mason and URI would be tied seven separate times and exchange the lead three times.
The Patriots look to rebound when they host George Washington and renew the Revolutionary Rivalry Friday October, 3 at 7 p.m.
