The George Mason women's volleyball team opens Atlantic 10 conference play Friday when they host Fordham at 7 p.m. in the Game of the Week.

The Patriots are coming off a 2-1 weekend at the Red Flash Classic hosted by Saint Francis where they capped off non-conference play with back-to-back wins including their first sweep of the season, a quick 3-0 win over Loyola (Md.).  Mason followed that with a 3-1 victory over Saint Francis, before falling in a hard-fought 3-2 loss to Morgan State.

Fordham comes to the RAC looking for its first win of the season. The Rams are coming off a 0-3 weekend at the Hofstra Invitational where second-year head coach Gini Ullery's squad suffered three straight sweeps. The Patriots faced Fordham twice last season splitting 1-1 with each side winning their respective home match 3-1.

The Patriots are back in action Saturday at 7 p.m. the RAC when they continue conference play against the Rams of Rhode Island. Rhody opens conference play Friday as well when they play at George Washington.The Rams head to GW at 9-4 on the season, though they enter the weekend on a three-match losing streak.
