Women's Volleyball Sweeps Loyola in Game one of Red Flash Classic

George Mason women's volleyball completed its first match sweep of the season with a 3-0 (25-22; 25-21; 25-18) win over Loyola (Md.) Friday night in the Patriots first match of the Red Flash Classic hosted by St. Francis (Pa.).

“This was definitely one of our most consistent matches,” head coach Pat Kendrick said. “ We'll look to build on this effort.”

The win marks the Patriots first sweep of the season as Mason improves to 3-9 on the season. On the match, the Patriots averaged a sideout percentage of over 65 and out-blocked Loyola 13 to 2. Jessie Greenslade set a season high with an attack percentage of just under 43% as she led Mason with nine kills, also a season-high, along with three aces and seven digs on the day.

The Patriots wrap up non-conference play tomorrow when they take on St. Francis (Pa.) at 1 p.m. followed by Morgan State at approximately 5 p.m.
