The George Mason men's soccer team is set to open the 2014 season on Friday, August 29 at American University with the Kuykenstrong D.C. College Cup. The Patriots are four-time defending champions of the Cup, defeating Howard 1-0 and American 2-1 in last year's tournament at George Mason stadium.
Mason will once again play both opponents to begin the 2014 season. A tilt against Howard kicks off the schedule at 2 p.m. on Friday followed by a match against American on Sunday, August 31 at 3 p.m. The Patriots return to action after a highly successful season in 2013, finishing with a 12-3-6 record, an Atlantic 10 Championship and an NCAA Tournament win over William & Mary.
