Mason heads to the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by the University of Massachusetts this Saturday and Sunday. The women's team looks to sweep indoor and outdoor titles after taking first overall in February's indoor championship, where the men's team took second place.

Heading into the weekend, the Patriots hold a combined 10 of the top marks in the conference including the men's and women's 4x100m and 4x400m and have 46 combined top 10 marks.

“We're excited for our first Outdoor Atlantic 10 Championships, not just because it's our first true team championship of the outdoor season, but because of the great atmosphere we experienced at the indoor meet,” said head coach Andrew Gerard. “We hope to have that same team energy and enthusiasm we saw at the indoor meet this weekend at UMass.

“When championship time rolls around, the focus becomes immediate- you're no longer chasing times or distances or heights- but concentrating on simply beating those other competitors around you at that moment,” Gerard added. “We're expecting it to be a very competitive meet on both sides and that's what we're prepared to do- compete hard for two days and see where the chips fall.”
