FAIRFAX, Virginia – Paco Velez has been selected as the EIVA Defensive Player of the Week.  The redshirt-sophomore contributed a total of 6 blocks and 12 digs in the regular season finale at Princeton.

To go along with his impressive defensive stats, the opposite hitter also contributed a team-high 17 total kills on the offensive end.  

A force on offense and defense, Velez is third on the team in digs (103) and kills (180) in this season.

Velez has been selected as an EIVA Player of the Week for three weeks in a row now.  This is Velez's second Defensive Player of the Week selection of the season.  He also has one Offensive Player of the Week award.

Up Next: The Patriots travel to Penn State for the EIVA semifinals on Thursday, April 24.  The match against the Nittany Lions is set to start at 7:30 p.m.
