CHARLOTTESVILLE, Virginia – The men's tennis team lost a tough match to the Richmond Spiders, 4-1 in their first ever A-10 Tournament game. The Patriots were the fifth seed in their inaugural trip to the A-10 Tournament.  

Taylor Sargent and Tanner Baine started the day with a win at the number two doubles position for Mason by defeating Alex Hahn and Canyon Teague of Richmond, 8-2. The Spiders were able to strike back with wins at one doubles as Ethan and Jacob Dunbar defeated the Patriots James Lange and Joe Hill 8-4. The final doubles match went to Richmond as well giving the Spiders the doubles point. 

Richmond struck first in singles with Ethan Dunbar defeating Jimmy Davis 6-2, 6-0 at the one position. The Patriots struck back with Lange defeating Dylan Trent 6-3, 6-0 at three singles. Joe Hill fell to Jacob Dunbar 6-2, 6-3 at two doubles followed by Taylor Sargent falling to Jonathan Quenard 6-2, 7-5 at number six singles. Tanner Baine and Aaron Capitel both had their matches called off after Richmond secured the win.

The Patriots finish the season at 13-9 overall and 4-3 in their innagural A-10 season.
