2015-16: Named to the Atlantic 10 All-Academic team for the second consecutive year... Led the Patriots playing from the top singles position with a 7-11 record... 7-12 in doubles competition, including 6-7 from the No. 2 spot... Earned recognition as a Peter Sterns Provost Scholar Athlete all three years, which requires a 3.75 GPA.... The economics major was also was named to the A-10 commissioners Honor Roll all semesters.
2014-15: Capitel was voted on the all-conference second team... Finished the 2014-15 campaign with a 16-18 record with most matches coming from the No. 2 singles position... was 13-14 in doubles competition.... member of the A-10 all-academic team, which is voted on by the league's sports information directors... earned second straight Mason Peter Sterns Provost Scholar Ahtlete (achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.75 or better) award... earned ITA Scholar Athletes by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association... Teamed up with Patriots Conor Moran (Centreville, VA) and won the Citi Open Doubles Wildcard Challenge to qualify for the ATP Citi Open in August.
2013-14: Finished a strong sophomore season with an 18-8 overall record, 10-7 from the No. 4 position…Had a 10 match winning streak from March 10 to April 8…Won 11 of his final 13 regular season matches…Went 3-2 in doubles matches...Spring 2014 Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll...Provost Scholar.
2012-13: Had an oustanding freshman campaign with a 21-7 singles matches record...Capitel had two seperate winning streaks of 6
Prep: Capitel has been ranked high as 185 nationally, 40th in the South and number 16 on Prince Hot Top 100 list... He is recognized as the #8 recruit in Georgia by tennisrecruiting.net. PREP: He graduated with honors from North Springs Charter High School in Atlanta, GA, where he was named Athlete of the Year for the Spartans... Recorded a 31-2 record in his four years of high school tennis, all from the top singles position... Mother Mindy played collegiate tennis at Jacksonville University.
