George Mason men's volleyball senior student-athlete Dave Lucas was recently selected by George Mason University's Alumni Association as the 'George Mason Senior of the Year.'
“The award is an incredible honor,” Dave told Mason Athletics. “I know a number of exceptional seniors in and outside of athletics, and I am humbled to have been selected from this group. I am thankful to have an excellent coach, great mentors in my academics, and an amazing family who have tirelessly encouraged and supported me throughout my college career.”

Mason finance major and volleyball player David Lucas, the 2014 Senior of the Year, has been so busy the past four years studying, competing, interning, and working as a teaching assistant in the School of Management that he has not taken a full account of his impact on the university.
His professors, mentors, and coach certainly have kept track, though. Reading the raves in their recommendation letters has been a gratifying and humbling experience for the University Scholars Program standout.
