FAIRFAX, Virginia – The George Mason men's volleyball team is headed to the EIVA tournament for the 14th season in a row. The Patriots clinched a spot in the EIVA semifinals after beating Princeton on senior night. The tournament will be held on Thursday, April 24 (semifinals) and Friday, April 25 (finals) at Penn State University.
The Patriots currently sit in fourth place in the EIVA standings, however, that still can change. With another win on Friday, April 18 against Princeton, Mason would move up to third place in the conference.
Scenarios:
If Mason wins on Friday, they will play the two seed Harvard in the tournament. The Patriots split the season series with Harvard. The Green and Gold lost to Harvard in a five-set thriller in the 2013 EIVA tournament.
If Princeton wins on Friday, George Mason will take on number one seed, Penn State. The Patriots lost twice to Penn State earlier this season.
