George Mason and St. Bonaventure will meet for the first time in program history this weekend. The Patriots are coming off an exciting walk-off win over Georgetown on Wednesday, collecting four hits in five at bats in the ninth inning to come away with the 6-5 victory. Mason fell to Maryland 11-0 on Tuesday.
Several Patriots continue to lead the conference in various categories. Blaise Fernandez is first with 14 doubles, Jared Gaynor (1.06) and Anthony Montefusco (1.17) are 1 & 2 in ERA and tied for first with five wins while Gaynor ranks first in with 59.2 innings pitched and Montefusco with 47 strikeouts. Luke Willis leads with 13 stolen bases and Chris Cook has been hit by 18 pitches and leads with a .472 on-base percentage.
St. Bonaventure holds an A-10 record of 1-6 after winning one of two vs. first place Saint Louis two weekends ago. The Bonnies are eighth in the conference with a .257 team batting average and 10th with a team ERA of 5.55.Dylan Dunn is tied for the team lead with three homeruns and leads with 20 RBI while second on the team among regular starters with a .299 batting average.
The Nats Tickets Game of the Week Giveaway that was rained out twice two weekend's ago has been rescheduled for Saturday, April 12. Mason Baseball hosts St. Bonaventure at 2pm at Spuhler Field. Mason students can receive a free ticket to the April 18 Nationals-Cardinals game while supplies last!
