FAIRFAX, Virginia – The George Mason men's volleyball team sweeps Harvard at the RAC tonight.  The Patriots were swept by the Crimson earlier this season at Harvard.

Mason won with set scores of 25-21, 25-22, and 25-19.  With tonight's victory, the Patriots improve to 7-8 on the season, while Harvard moves to 8-5.

The first set really set the tone for the entire match because the Patriots came out on fire.  Mason jumped out to a 9-1 thanks in part to kills from Radoslav Popov, Hunter Stevens, and Christian Malias.  The Green and Gold didn't look back from there, going on to win the set without giving up the lead at all.  Popov had four of his match-best 13 kills to help the Patriots dominate the first set (25-21).

The second set was the closest set of the match.  This set included nine ties and three lead changes.  After going down 12-9, the Patriots fought back and won four points in a row after three attack errors from the Crimson.  After grabbing the lead at 13-12, the Patriots did not give it back the entire set.  After winning three out of the next four points, Harvard was forced into a timeout.  The timeout did not deter the Patriots, who went on to win the set 25-22.

The third and final set was all Green and Gold.  The Patriots jumped out to another early lead at 9-4 thanks in part to four kills from Popov.  All four of those kills by Popov were assisted by sophomore, Jackson Carr.  Carr finished the evening with an impressive 36 assists in only three sets.  Mason went on to win the match easily by a score of 25-19 after a kill from Paco Velez.

Radoslav Popov led the Patriots for the third match in a row with 13 total kills.  Paco Velez also finished in double digit kills, finishing with 11.  Jackson Carr dished out a match-high 36 assists.  Meanwhile, Popov also added nine digs to lead the Patriot defense.

The Crimson were led by Dj White, who finished with a team-high 13 kills.  Nick Bendell also dished out a team-best 23 assists.  Meanwhile, Chris Gibbobns finished with a match-best 10 digs to lead Harvard on defense.
