George Mason women's basketball closed the regular season with a 74-63 loss to Richmond on senior day.

The Patriots celebrated the achievements of seniors Janaa Pickard, Cierra Strickland, Kyana Jacobs and Christine Weithman in front of a women's basketball record crowd of 3,417 before the Saturday afternoon match-up.

Once the game began, however, it was a junior and a redshirt sophomore that were the story for Mason as Taylor Brown and Sandra Ngoie combined for 46 points on the game with 40 coming in the last 21 minutes of play.

Brown single handedly managed to keep the Patriots in the game before halftime, scoring 12 points in the final four minutes of the half to send the Patriots into the break trailing just 31-30.

The second half started just as the second half ended as Brown connected on a jumper to give the Patriots a 32-31 lead. Mason would lead by as much as six points with 15:03 remaining in the second half, but the Spiders came back with a 10-0 run to take a 51-47 with just under 12 minutes to play before Ngoie would hit a three to snap Masons four minute scoring drought. The Spiders would hold on from there, shooting just over 48% from the field and 43% from beyond the arc in the second half.

Brown led the Patriots with 28 points, five assists and three steals on the day with Ngoie contributing 18 points in the losing effort.
