The George Mason women's basketball team trades their Green and Gold for pink on Saturday afternoon when the Patriots host Saint Louis in the annual Play 4Kay game at 2 p.m. sponsored by Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association and Chocolate Milk. The meeting marks the first time the two programs have met.
Mason is looking to bounce back after a narrow 66-60 loss at La Salle. The Patriots led for most of the game against the Explorers, leading by as many as 12 points in the first half and led by six with less than four minutes in the second half. Janaa Pickard had her best game of conference play thus far with 15 points, eight rebounds and two blocks.
Saint Louis, a member of the Atlantic 10 since 2005, comes into the game off a 56-45 loss to Fordham Wednesday night. On the season, the Billikens are led by Erin Nelson with 13.3 points per game followed by Desirae Ball with 12.0 points per game.
Saturday's women's basketball game also marks Game of the Week for Mason students. Free pink t-shirts will be distributed to Mason students courtesy of the Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association in support of Play 4Kay.
