The George Mason men's basketball team continues this three-game homestand welcoming No. 10 Saint Louis to the Patriot Center on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The two squads meet for just the second time in program history as the Billikens took the first matchup to open the month of February in overtime in Saint Louis.
Mason has taken two of its past three decisions, most recently coming off a setback against St. Bonaventure on Saturday. In Mason's first meeting against the Billikens, senior Bryon Allen set a career-high with 30 points. The Patriots took the lead coming out of the haltime break and held the advantage until Saint Louis' Rob Loe hit a triple with 45 seconds left to tie the game.
Saint Louis sits alone atop the A-10 standings as the only team undefeated in the league. The Billikens were picked to finish second in the preseason polls behind the VCU Rams, whom the Billikens just defeated on Saturday. Dwayne Evans leads a trio of players averaging double-figure scoring numbers with a 14.8 ppg average. Jordair Jett follows Evans with a 13.2 ppg average and leads the team in assists with 122.
