Rachel McNair registered a double-double with 10 points and 17 rebounds Sunday as George Mason women's basketball took an 83-81 win over Bowie State in an exhibition game Sunday afternoon at the Patriot Center.  

It was a tale of two halves for Mason as the Bulldogs defense held the Patriots to just above 28% from the field, while BSU would connect on just under 43% to take a 38-32 lead into the break.

The second half was a much different story, as the Patriots would outscore Bowie State 28-10 over the first 12 minutes of the half to take a 62-48 lead. The Bulldogs would rally back with a 28-20 run over the final 6:20 of the game, but Mason would hold on to take the win thanks to 10 free throws from redshirt junior Taylor Brown in the last three minutes of play.

Brown led all scorers on the day with 31 points on 10 of 18 shooting. Classmate Kristi Mokube had 11 points and freshman Qierra Murray contributed 10 in their first competitive action for the Patriots.
