Redshirt junior guard Taylor Brown has been named Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Player of the Week announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.
This is the first time Brown has earned Player of the Week honors. The Bowie, Md. native recorded her second career double-double in Mason's 77-69 win over Virginia Tech Friday, tying her career high with 35 points in addition to a career-high 11 rebounds. With the Patriots down 25-21 with just under four minutes to play, Brown began a personal run spanning seven minutes bridging the end of the first half and start of the second half where she'd outscore the Hokies 18-8 on her own.
Brown also came up big in the Patriot's 79-70 loss to Morehead State on Sunday where she had a game-high 23 points and eight rebounds in addition to three steals to conclude the weekend averaging a stellar 29 points and 9.5 rebounds per game through opening weekend.
Brown was also named College Sports Madness A-10 Player of the Week this week.
The Patriots return to the court Wednesday night when they host Delaware State at 7 p.m. in the Patriot Center.
