Parking Information
Parking is available adjacent to the stadium in Lots M, N, O, and P. Additional parking will be available on the main campus in the Rappahannock River Parking Deck and west of the stadium in the West Campus Parking Lot. Shuttles will run spectators from both the Rappahannock River Parking Deck and the West Campus Parking Lot to the stadium for the event. For a map of the campus, click here.
Tailgate Information
- Charcoal grills only (hot coals must be disposed of in metal trash cans provided by Fire Safety)
- All tents must be secured and located at least 20' from any open flame cooking appliances including grills.
- Tents must be dismantled when left unattended
- Consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited and is monitored and enforced by University Police
- Trash must be disposed of in proper receptacles
- All Mason student organizations are required to use 25 Live to schedule event space on campus
The George Mason men's soccer team hosts the Virginia Cavaliers at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 7 at George Mason Stadium. The Patriots, currently ranked 20th in the country, will face their toughest test of the season against Virginia, currently ranked one spot ahead of Mason at 19th. Mason boasts one of the top goal scorers in the country in senior Timi Mulgrew, who is tied for fourth in the nation with eight goals this season and is tied for sixth in the country with 16 total points. The Patriots also sport one of the top defenses in NCAA Divison 1 led by sophomore Steffen Kraus, who ranks among the top of the country in goals-against average and save percentage. As a team Mason has posted seven shutouts in nine games this season. Virginia's starting goalkeeper Calle Brown falls in the top 25 in save percentage and goals-against average while Sam Hayward has scored two game-winning goals for the Cavaliers, third in the ACC. The Patriots and the Cavaliers will be meeting for the 29th time in their history.
The Patriots lost their first contest of the season on Saturday, falling 3-0 to Atlantic 10 Conference opponent VCU to move to 7-1-2 this season, 0-1 in A-10 play. The Rams scored 2:16 into the match, giving Mason its first deficit of the season.
Virginia most recently defeated ACC opponent Pittsburgh 3-0 on Saturday and come into Tuesday's match with a record of 6-3-1.The Cavaliers won last year's meeting with the Patriots in Charlottesville by the score of 3-0.
