Box Score Morghan Martin and Jessie Greenslade had 12 kills each as George Mason women's volleyball (5-12, 1-2 A-10) fell 3-1 (13-25; 25-23; 16-25; 22-25) to Revolutionary Rival George Washington Friday night in Fairfax.
After the Colonials took the first set, holding the Patriots to a side-out percentage of just 36 Mason bounced back in set number two behind four kills from Martin and two from Greenslade. The set win was not uncontested as GW and Mason would exchange the lead three times and be tied 10 times before the Patriots would tie the match and one set a piece.
The Colonials went on to take set three, creating a must-win situation for Mason in set four. Greenslade maintained an attack percentage of 54.4 with six kills and no errors on the set, however, it was not enough as GW would close-out the match with a 25-22 set win.
On the match, Martin added 12 digs while Caitlyn Hipsher contributed 16 assists with Kelly Schaller right behind her with 15. Defensively, Sydney Fanoga assisted on six blocks and Stephi Matsushima added 18 digs.
