Box Score Stephi Matsushima registered a career-high 34 digs as George Mason women's volleyball team took a 3-2 win at Davidson Sunday afternoon to improve to 6-14 on the season and 2-5 in conference play.
There was a total of 20 ties and eight lead changes over the five-set match. The first set alone would see seven ties coming and the lead would change hands four times before the Patriots would take control and seal up the first set win 25-23 on .242 hitting. Davidson rallied to take set two 25-23 followed by a 26-24 win in set three.
The Patriots refused to leave Belk Arena without the win and rallied to take set four 25-18 forcing a decisive set five. Mason took the lead early in set five and held on throughout to take set five 15-10 and get their second A-10 win of the season.
Lola Owokoniran led the Patriots with 13 kills on .364 hitting in addition to three solo blocks and assisted on three more for a match-high 17.5 points. Jessie Greenslade also registered 13 kills, while Morghan Martin added nine over her own in addition to three aces.
