George Mason women's volleyball fell 3-0 (18-25; 17-25; 16-25) at VCU Friday night in the Patriots first conference road match of the season.

The match was not as one-sided as the score appears with five lead changes and nine ties throughout the match.This included six ties in the first set along with two lead changes. 

Junior Lola Owokoniran led Mason with six kills on .267 hitting while Caitlyn Hipsher and Kelly Schaller combined for 23 assists on the night. Hipsher also registered two aces along with her 12 assists. Jelena Cobanovic and Morghan Martin added an ace each.

The Rams were led by Janelle Sykes with 10 kills on .389 followed by Jessica Young with 12 kills on .346 hitting.

Mason heads to Davidson to face the Wildcats on Sunday at 1 p.m.
