FAIRFAX, Va. - Junior Taylor Washington was named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week as announced by the conference on Monday.
Washington started all three games this week for the Patriots, contributing late-game heroics in Mason's 1-1 draw with Dayton and 3-2 victory over No. 13 Saint Louis. This is his first time earning A-10 Player of the Week honors.
Washington was one of two players to assist on Jannik Eckenrode's goal with 12 seconds remaining in regulation on Friday that gave the Patriots a 1-1 draw with Dayton. The Somers, N.Y. native also punched in the game-deciding goal with less than three minutes remaining on Sunday to give Mason a 3-2 conference win over No. 13 Saint Louis, his first goal of the season.
Mason travels to play Rhode Island on Friday, October 17 at 7 p.m. before returning home for a 1 p.m. match vs. Fordham on Sunday, October 19 at George Mason Stadium.
